Other Libraries
University of Leeds Library
The Trust has a Service Level Agreement with the University of Leeds which allows all Trust staff to join the University Library and have borrowing rights at all the University’s libraries: Brotherton Library, Edward Boyle Library, Health Sciences Library, CSB Library at St James’s.
To join, all you need to do is go to one of the libraries, show a valid current Trust ID badge, and register.
More information on what is available under the SLA can be found at http://library.leeds.ac.uk/info/200215/health/412/information_for_nhs_employees.
As part of the SLA, Trust staff may use university electronic resources. These are ONLY available from PCs within one of the university libraries or in the CSB Library at St James’s, which is shared with the Trust’s own library service. Trust staff, other than those with Honorary University appointments, DO NOT have remote (off-campus) access to University e-resources.
The university library catalogue can be found at http://lib.leeds.ac.uk/ and this will include details of all the journals (print or electronic) which are taken by the University, and to which we have access.
Leeds Library & Information Service (Public library)
Membership of the public library is open to anybody who lives, works or studies in Leeds. Information on how to join plus an online registration form can be found at http://www.leeds.gov.uk/Leisure_and_culture/Libraries/Libraries__how_to_join.aspx
As well as the services available at the 53 branches across the city, membership also gives online access to a range of electronic resources. Among those available from home are:
- Encyclopaedia Britannica
- Oxford English Dictionary
- Times digital archive
Leeds Metropolitan University Library
Reference only access to printed books and journals during staffed hours. Details of opening hours may be found at http://libraryonline.leedsmet.ac.uk/pages/home/opening_hours. There are no borrowing arrangements with Leeds Metropolitan University. Licensing restrictions mean that there is no access to e-resources, even within the library. The university catalogue can be found at http://library.leedsmet.ac.uk.
